While California is slowly opening up for Phase 2, not every county is in the same situation. For example, Santa Clara is seeing the most significant decrease in the number of new cases, stepping down as the country with the second most number of total confirmed cases.

Alameda is the new #1 with a total of 3,195 confirmed cases and its impact is immediately seen in many hospitals in the county. Washington Hospital is one of them, and we are hearing that the number of patients are increasing at the highest rate there. Many of the patients these days are actually the most vulnerable as most of them are the seniors coming from nursing homes with worsening symptoms.

Again, thank you for serving the community with such a great courage and tenacity.

In the past post, we shared the quote from a doctor we know;

"I talked with my surgeon friend who takes care of the covid patients at Regional. The patients mostly go to Canyon Springs after discharge. Usually they are too weak and debilitated to go home, and they require long term care with special breathing machines. I was told that Canyon has the most covid patients in SJ because most places are afraid to accept these patients."

The healthcare workers at Canyon Springs Post Acute Care are the true heroes as they are spending day and night to take care of the most vulnerable COVID19 patients in the Bay Area. Thank you!

80 meals to the healthcare workers and staffs at nursing home!

Did you know that patients at nursing homes (mostly seniors) are one of the most vulnerable groups of people who are impacted by COVID-19?

We often hear that the healthcare workers and the staffs at many of the nursing homes are struggling to fight the COVID-19 as their patients are among the most vulnerable. Here's a quote from an interview with a doctor we know;

Meals may not help them cure anyone directly, but we hope those meals will lift up people who will support senior patients fighting the virus hard!
