Healthcare workers are still fighting!

40 meals to Kaiser Permanente, Santa Clara

The whole country, including California, is opening up slowly for the phase 2 but that does not mean that our healthcare workers are immediately free. The cafeteria is still closed after 7pm and the overnight shift is still with limited access to any food. Even for those day-shifts, their unit stress level stays the same (or even higher) as they witness more deaths or patients struggling with their naked eyes for a longer period of time.

Meals to them mean beyond just a meal. It is the positive spirit that can surely lift them up in this critical time.

Things are settling down overall, which is great, but please don't forget that the fight isn't over and there are our heroes still fighting the virus, now with even less public attention and support!

100 Meals To Family In Needs!

Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto used to support up to 250 hot lunches everyday for families with special needs. But they had to temporarily stop the program due to COVID-19, and that's why we wanted to chime in and collaborate!

Again, our great partner Dokkabier from SF drove down to provide them with 100 hot meals. You can also check the highlight posted on EHP's Facebook Page.

Third Week Report: 2nd Campaign was 7x bigger!

It has been exactly three weeks since we last started our 2nd fundraising campaign to expand our effort to support more people, including healthcare workers, seniors with limited access to foods, and families with special needs.

Until today, we raised a total of $57,415.17, received $39,909.17, and spent $14,772.44 to deliver a total of 1368 meals to 10 hospitals and ICUs, 2 senior centers, and 1 NPO that feed local families with special needs. That's $10.80 per meal on average, restaurant-quality meals that could easily cost up to $20 per serving in normal days.

As you can see, we still have $42,742.74 to spend, which will be translated into around 4K meals to deliver. There are four more deliveries to 2 hospitals, 1 NPO, and 1 senior center scheduled in the next two weeks. We will keep adding more beneficiaries over the course of next couple of weeks, and continue to update the progress through our blogs! Please stay tuned!
